We need CCSAR volunteers for NNO

Calling all active Crawford County Search and Rescue Team Members. We are in need of volunteers for Tuesday nights B-I-G County wide National Night Out event. Please contact CCSAR President Jim Jones if you can volunteer for this event during the day we need people to bring equipment to the VBHS and help set up (651-4594) or call National Night Out-Crawford County Chairperson, Christy Jones (651-8003)as we also need helpers for the afternoon and evening shifts to help organizations/businesses get set up and just in general make things run smooth.

National Night Out-Crawford County

It is getting closer to the time for our National Night Out event for Crawford County and I am excited to announce all of the participants that will be there along with some activities. I will attach them below! I hope that you will bring your families for this fun filled free night of excitement! Fingerprinting for the kids, with 2 bounce arounds, 2 popcorn machines, 2 snow cone vendors with 550 free snow cones!, over 1,000 free hot dogs, over 1500 free waters, over 1,000 free bags of chips, free cookies, free candy, free games and prizes, free coloring books, free door prizes for the adults which include a train ride to Winslow, $100 gift basket from Natural Treasures, gift card from Country Junkie, gift card packages which include: dominos/chilis/arbys and much more! Visit with your favorite emergency personnel: police-fire-search and rescue-ems-air evac-medical reserve corp. Or adopt a new pet while you visit with us from Almost Home Dog Shelter or Pawzatively Canine and also see our very own K9 Duke from Mountainburg. So excited! Come and see us Tuesday, August 1 from 5-8pm at the Van Buren High School parking lot: 2001 Pointer Tr E, in Van Buren!

Meeting Tuesday

We will hold the July regular meeting on Tuesday, June 27 at 7 pm at the EOC. We will get ready for our fundraiser coming up Saturday night, July 1, at Fireworks on the Hill. Need lots of volunteers for selling water/sodas and in case of first aid or searches.

Tuesday April 4 Meeting-Boat Training

Meet at EOC at 7pm and we will go to Lee Creek Park and run all the boats on the AR River. Don’t be late, we will carpool or drive your own car. Meeting will be held there before getting in boats. Lots of rain recently so we will need to run all of them make sure they are in good shape as well as all of us and make sure we all know procedures. Park down past Simmons-down Front/First Street. Hope to see you there!

March 7: Storm Spotter Class

Tuesday, March 7, starting at 7pm until finished we will have the Storm Spotter class. This will be open to the public. It will be at the Emergency Operations Center at 1820 Chestnut in Van Buren. If you have any questions contact Brad Thomas at 479-471-3260.

MEETING FEB 7 ROPE TRAINING

We will have rope training at the regular meeting time at 7 pm on February 7th at the EOC and then on February 18th we will meet at 8 am and travel to FERN for repelling class. You must attend the rope training class in order to attend the class on the 18th. If you have any questions please contact Jim Jones.

HAZMAT AWARENESS CLASS

REGULAR TUESDAY MEETING FOR FEBRUARY 7 TH WILL BE HELD AT 6PM (WILL LAST ABOUT 4 HRS) FOR ALL CCSAR MEMBERS AND TRAINING WILL BE A CLASS ON HAZMAT AWARENESS. EVEN IF YOU HAVE HAD THIS CLASS PLEASE TAKE IT AGAIN. YOU NEED TO RENEW!
